Holtek has launched the BLDC Flash MCU-HT66FM5242, targeting the field of brushless DC (BLDC) motor control. The solution can fully support square wave and sine wave control, and is applicable to single-phase/three-phase BLDC motor applications with Hall Sensor.
The HT66FM5242 features 4K×16 Flash Program ROM, 256 Byte Data RAM, operating voltage of 4.5V~5.5V, system frequency provided by the built-in precise oscillator (HIRC) at 20MHz, and has 6+1 channels of 12-bit fast ADC, 2 of 10-bit PTM Timer, and 2 of 16-bit PTM Timer, as well as LVD and LVR to detect system voltage. If the system voltage is lower than the LVR value, the system will generate a reset to avoid unstable state caused by working voltage lower than the operating voltage.
The BLDC motor control circuit provided by HT66FM5242 includes: a 16-bit Capture Timer for speed control monitoring of the speed loop, a group of 10-bit PWM Timers to provide 3 groups of pulse width modulated control outputs (1 group of PWM Period and 3 groups of PWM Duty), and has complementary and Dead Time control functions, polarity output polarity adjustment, and a group of OCP circuits that provide over-current detection protection mechanisms that can be integrated with the ADC and can directly cut off the external driving signal to protect the DC motor. HT66FM5242 offers both 16NSOP and 20SSOP packages, as well as complying with industrial specifications and high anti-noise characteristics.
